Cautionary Tales – The French Knight’s Information to Company Tradition

France 1346: The military of King Philip VI is Europe’s pre-eminent killing machine. It’s used to crushing any pressure silly sufficient to oppose it, and now totally expects to annihilate a motley band of English invaders on a area close to the village of Crecy.

Besides as night time falls, it’s Philip’s military that lies damaged and bleeding within the mud. What went flawed? The French knights, it appears, had did not replace their company tradition.

Cautionary Tales is written by me, Tim Harford, with Andrew Wright. It’s produced by Ryan Dilley, with assist from Courtney Guarino and Emily Vaughn.
